The Colt Combat Unit Rail Gun also known simply as Colt Rail Gun is a semi-automatic, recoil-operated, single-action pistol introduced by Colt in 2016. It’s an updated version of the legendary 1911 design. The Rail Gun has a short recoil guide rod and a classic barrel bushing, which does not differ from the original, but has a forward slide serrations. The Rail Gun has an ambidextrous gun safety and thus enables cocked and locked carry. The Rail Gun got it’s name from the rail that enables attachments of various lights/lasers, this upgrades and pushes the old design into a new era competing striker-fired pistols. Designers from Colt also upgraded the gun by adding Novak night sights and gray g10 tactical grips. Other than that, the Rail Gun is available in either 9mm caliber or the classic .45 ACP caliber. The gun has a 5 inch barrel and can hold 9 or 10 rounds depending on the caliber. This upgraded version of the 1911 is sure to fit perfectly into the Law Enforcement and military category, which it was designed for.
